About The Hunsrueck Area - rolling hills of fields and trees.

After a four-and-a-half-hour drive at 0330, we spent the morning at the Consulate in Frankfurt working on our Social Security claim. Then, we added a couple of days in the Hunsrueck region of the Rhineland Palatinate. We visited Ebernburg Castle, Schloss Dhaun, and did a drive-by of Schloss Gemuenden on our way to our hotel in Simmer im Hunsrueck. When you start that early, you can get a lot in a single day. The two castles were open and free to explore – an added benefit over in the RP, prices are a little higher over here in the more populated part of western Germany. We finished the day with a quick stop at the Bismarck in Sargenroth. This time of year, with the land green and the trees just leafing out is wunderbar!
