Archäologischer Park Cambodunum in Kempten
About APC in Kempten Germany
A quick Sunday morning drive to Kempten to see the Roman ruins. After the Celts colonized the area, the Romans moved in just about 0 CE. These ruins were not rediscovered until the last 1930's. The had not been built over and were in good shape. Unfortunately, World War Two intervined and a lot was looted, but the town has restored a few temples and has uncovered the excellent therme. A lot of it is still there and there is a nice building covering the ruin now. The park includes rebuilt temples and a large park covering most of the original site with a lot of fun exhibits and activities for kids. We took the opportunity to drive past the Plansee early in the morning for a few more Alpen lake pictures..
