About Museum Day in Frankfurt

We had some time to explore Frankfurts museums on Sunday and were ready to walk out the door of our East Frankfurt hotel and catch the Tram downtown. Opening the door, we saw that the street was completely coned off, traffic was non-existant and bicycles would occaisionally wizz by. A stroll to the tram stop explained that because of the Ironman event in Frankfurt - all trams and buses were cancelled. The last time we were here they were all on strike. So we walked to an underground stop about a km away to start the day. Lots of walking was rewarded with time in the Jewish Museum and the Applied Art museum. Had a great lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant and a Moroccan Dinner near the hotel. A great day even with the Ironman detours...
