About Castello di Breno

Up the Oglio valley past Lago D'Iseo lies the town of Berno. Again the information we had said the castle was not open until noon, but we did not have time to wait. So we climbed to the castle and found that the hours were for the bar in the castle. It was open and you can see the great photos from this fortress on the way to Austria. Wonderful views of the valley and the village of Breno. We stopped and grabbed sandwich makings and ate a fine lunch at one of frequent roadside picnic areas in the area. Then off to the Brenner Pass - or so we thought..
