About Paris Montmartre

A short train ride to GdN and we were greeted by wonderful sunshine in the City of Light. I selected the area because I knew it is the location of some of the largest fabric stores in Europe. My sweetheart loves to wander through fabric stores looking for stylish bargains. I think she might have actually reached overload in this area. We visited the catherdral and wandered through the art area. We used the Hall Saint Pierre as a base - it has a cafe gallery and WCs. Took the funiculuar up to the church - wandered through the church with maybe a thousand of other tourists. I wonder how bad it is in the summer? After buying enough fabric to require a 2nd checked bag on the way home, we caught the slow train - my mistake - back to Amiens. We had a great lunch at a Cambodian restaraunt too. Enjoy!
